There’s the common term coined as the “monkey mind.” It’s when our brain jumps from thought to thought, provoking anxiety, and using energy that could be conserved or utilized in a way that benefits us. Instead, it’s exerted in the endless marathon of our minds. A lot of times we think we can’t turn it off. That we are just wired this way. This is not the case, we just need to retrain our brains.

Our mind is a muscle. If we train it to only move in one direction it will be naturally resistant to go in another. For those of us who have trained our minds that constantly moving, working, grinding, producing is the only way, we find that it can be very difficult to relax our minds. We have told it that the only way to be “good” is by doing. This is not the case. Just like any muscle, recovery days are important. Leg day isn’t every day at the gym, am I right? Our mind needs rest just as much as our bodies do. In fact, when we rest our minds we allow them to grow. Watch this two-minute video where I explain the reason for rest.

We all want more. We want more for ourselves, our loved ones, the world. In order for us to do and have more, we must do less. We must rest. Here is a list of my suggestions to help you get started in resting for more.
