Writing, for me, serves a multitude of purposes. For each objective, I do it differently.

For example:

When studying French, I write:

  • in a notebook
  • in my planner
  • on scratch paper
  • in books
  • on mirrors with dry-erase markers
  • on walls with pencil

Quite literally, anywhere that is close enough for me to make a note about something that I have a question about. Often, I lose the paper or forget the question and never find the answer to it. That’s due to my equal parts short attention span and lack of dedication.

My dedication to French is not even close to my commitment to work, which is usually why I quit studying.

For my internal sorting, I write in a journal. Internal sorting includes:

  • trying to improve my thought pattern
  • communicating with my higher power
  • understanding why I’m feeling or behaving in a certain way
  • make a decision

And, finally, for fun, practice, personal…
