How the How To Guides Messed With My Flow
For years I’ve been reading about the best way to live my best life. I read so much of the same advice it became truth instead of what it actually was: Someone sharing what worked best for them. The likelihood that the same methods worked for multiple people is great. Obviously, there’s evidence in the number of similar texts that back it. Just because something is popular does not mean that it is best for everyone. How easily I forget that all people are not the same and that I am included in “all people.” It is easy for me to apply this to others when considering diet, exercise, and even extending it to political views or emotional responses. Yet, I have programmed my brain to think that there is only one way for me to be me when it comes to being a productive superstar.
Wake Up Early
I love waking up early. The morning is sacred to me. Nothing has happened that can affect my mood because it’s a new day. When I try to abide by the advice of how-to guides, I find that the sacred peace of the morning is removed, and what I’m left with is disappointment. I feel that I’m not doing enough and what I am doing, I’m not doing right. Thinking this way in no way contributes to the quality of my life. Recognizing this, I have dedicated my mornings to my mind. I get one to two hours every morning to do…
